Third Place - Grilled Cheese - Raleigh, North Carolina

Third Place is a great spot to converse over tea. Their fresh salsa is good, but the grilled cheese is too healthy: not buttered on the outside. This is because it's baked open-face in the conveyor toaster, not grilled. Still, sitting outside, sipping green tea, and munching on decent food is a pleasure.

Bruegger's Bagels - Egg and Cheese Bagel - Raleigh, North Carolina

When it's 10:30am and I haven't had my requisite bowl of cereal but I'm already at work with rapidly dropping bloodsugar, what I need is egg and cheese on an asiago bagel from Bruegger's Bagels on Hillsborough Street. Oily, spicy, salty, filling. The baked-on cheese mixture, with herbs and pepper in it, isn't sprinkled on. It's a solid coating. Mmmm...Melty cheese.
